 HYPODERMIC TUBING
Hypodermic Tubing begins as a strip of stainless steel. It is rolled, welded then plug drawn to its final gage size. This process gives the tubing the appearance of being seamless as well as holding tight tolerances on both the O.D. and I.D., commonly referred to as Needle Tubing.
Many component parts can be made from hypodermic tubing. Some examples are spacers, nozzles, sleeves and needles. A wide selection of gage sizes makes this a superb product widely used in medical, aerospace, communication, and food and beverage industries. It is also a favorite for hobbyist and model makers. Stainless steel hypodermic tubing displays good corrosion resistance and can be used in air, water, oil, natural gas and chemical circuits.
Hypodermic Tubing Gages are based on the Birmingham Gage, also known as Stub's Iron Wire Gage.
All of our tubing is produced by using the "Tungsten Inert Gas (T.I.G.) welded and plug (Mandrel) drawn method". A proprietary process produces smoother bore tubing compared with other commercial mills. Our Hypodermic tubing is drawn to a full hard temper (medical grade) condition and typically has a minimum tensile strength of
150 KPSI. This condition provides excellent rigidity, strength and stiffness.

304 S/S Hypodermic Tubing
304 S/S has a relatively low carbon content 0.08% maximum. It resists corrosion better than 302 S/S. Known for its excellent corrosion & oxidation resistance even at high temperatures, 304 S/S has excellent cold working properties and strength which makes it an outstanding choice for fabricated parts.

316 S/S Hypodermic Tubing
316 S/S has many similar attributes of 304 S/S, but its corrosion resistance is much higher due to the addition of molybdenum. Designed for use in corrosive environments, 316 S/S has been used in many applications ranging from chemical, industrial and marine industry to medical devices.
